The Loudoun Pet Sitting Company provides busy pet owners in and near Western Loudoun County and northern Fauquier County with experienced and professional pet sitting services, ranging from daily dog walks to long term vacation care for your dogs, cats, horses, chickens, bunnies, and other family and farm pets. We specialize in giving superior custom care to pets, whether for a day or an extended period. We know that our animals are a part of our families, and we are dedicated to providing excellent service for the peace of mind of pet parents.
Formerly known as Walking Wetnoses in Leesburg (since 2010), and Hoofs and Woofs in Middleburg (since 2007) and Pawsome Palz in Purcellville (since 2016), The Loudoun Pet Sitting Company merges these exceptional and highly trusted services. Our focus is on maintaining the safety and happiness of your pets in a compassionate and patient manner, while paying close attention to detail.
Managed by Lysa and Paul Clemens, the owners, and Sharon Blank, Office Manager, The Loudoun Pet Sitting Co. goes the extra mile for our two and four-legged clients.
Backup sitters means your visit always happens
Our experienced team means that we are able to provide a backup sitter in case the assigned sitter is delayed on a prior pet care visit with a sick pet, gets a flat tire, or if they themselves are out sick or need a day or two off. We coordinate the backup care to ensure your pet gets the care you expect, and if your pet needs to meet new sitters ahead of time, we will arrange for an introduction before a backup is needed.
Experienced managers step in when needed
Lysa, Paul and Sharon are all themselves experienced horse and animal caregivers, and will assist sitters in case of emergencies or in unusual situations. Always a text or call away, they can provide advice, meet the sitter on the job if an extra pair of hands or eyes is needed, and ensure that owners are notified of any issues. Our sitters and clients appreciate the extra and knowledgeable layer of support that this team provides.
Proactive attention to details
Our sitters and managers get to know your and your pets’ routine, and notice if things are out of the ordinary. Is Fido feeling less energetic than usual? We will let you know. Accident in the house? We clean it up as best as possible. Running low on grain or dog food over an extended vacation? We will pick up more. Fence board down? We will tack it back up.
As the heart of our business, all members of our pet service team are experienced pet owners and care providers. Our horse caregivers have horse and farm experience, and many are current or former horse owners and riders themselves. Each team member is bonded and insured, and has passed a national criminal background check. It is in our and your pet’s best interest to provide a trustworthy caregiver, so we offer flexible schedules and competitive pay to attract and retain the most qualified, reliable, and stable team of walkers and sitters.
The Loudoun Pet Sitting Co. is licensed in Loudoun County, based in Purcellville VA, and is insured and bonded by Kennel Pro Insurance.
Lysa and Paul Clemens, Owners
With their fur family of five dogs, three house cats, and two horses, Lysa and Paul are committed pet parents. For almost 10 years, Lysa and Paul owned a large horse boarding facility in Middleburg while they were both working as corporate executives. During that time, they were constantly seeking out dependable and genuinely caring help to take care of their furry clan and provide backup care for the horses while they were working and traveling. After deciding to escape from corporate America, they knew they wanted to focus on filling a need for busy pet parents to have peace of mind knowing that their animals are happy and well taken care of when they can’t be at home. They entered the pet care business in 2016 with the purchases of two well established and respected companies (Walking Wetnoses in Leesburg, and Hoofs and Woofs Pet Sitting in Middleburg) to form The Loudoun Pet Sitting Company. In 2018, Pawsome Palz of Purcellville was merged into The Loudoun Pet Sitting Company.
Sharon Blank, Office and Scheduling Manager
Dogs, cats and horses have always been an important part of Sharon’s life. When she left the UK in the early 1990’s for government positions in Canada then the US, her horse followed her. Finding the level care for her horse during that time was challenging, so having decided to remain in the US, Sharon started boarding horses for other people along with running her own small pet-sitting business. She continues to board horses in rural Loudoun where she resides with her husband and their two rescue dogs. Having previously worked for Lysa and Paul, Sharon was excited to join The Loudoun Pet Sitting Co. in early 2017.
As a new client, you will have a meet and greet with Lysa Clemens, the owner, or an experienced pet sitter. She will meet with you and your pets, review their routine, and determine the best match among our sitters for your primary and back up caregivers. You’ll be asked to provide two keys (or a garage or keypad code, and one key). Once the paperwork is completed, you’ll be set up in our system and given access to our client portal.
Lysa and Sharon manage the business daily, working with all the pet sitters to ensure that they have everything they need to do their pet visits: keys, pet care instructions, special notes for the day. Using an app, all team members can see their schedules for the day complete with addresses, notes, pet information, and phone numbers. Our sitters use the app to check-in and out of a visit and to mark it as complete and add notes for the office and notes for the client as needed. The check-ins and completions are monitored throughout the day so we can ensure everyone is running on time. If sitters need planned time off or run into a last minute problem (like a flat tire), Lysa and Sharon coordinate with other sitters to ensure a backup sitter is scheduled and your pets’ visit is completed. You will also receive a text or email post-visit report after each visit is completed, adding to your confidence that your pets have been take care of; sitters will also reach out directly to clients with questions or issues.
You can review your schedule, request additional services and cancel services through the client portal. You can also reach out via text or email to our office. We encourage use of the portal to ensure tracking of a request from the time it was made all the way to its completion and billing. Clients can review past services, see the status of requests, review notes made in past visits by sitters, and review invoices and pay online.

Our team consists of more than thirty professional pet caregivers in the Leesburg, Purcellville, Marshall and Middleburg areas with horse, dog and/or cat experience, and some bring chicken, ferret, bunny, and bird experience as well!
Before joining our team, new pet sitters go through an interview process over the phone and in person to ensure that they have the necessary experience not only caring for their pets, but also for others’ pets, and that they have the ancillary skills needed to be a successful pet caregiver: reliability, timeliness, good communication skills, and dependability. Pet sitters and dog walkers who join our team are generally experienced not only in caring for pets but also in using services of a walking/sitting service so understand the expectations our clients have from the perspective of a pet parent and client. Our horse caregivers are experienced horse owners and riders who understand horse care, health and how a barn works. A thorough background check is conducted before they join the company. Feedback from clients is shared with pet sitters as appropriate and is used to continually ensure that our team of sitters is providing the excellent care our clients expect.
