Managed by Kim Davis, the owner, and Amanda Polvika, Office Manager, The Loudoun Pet Sitting Co. goes the extra mile for our two and four-legged clients.
Backup sitters means your visit always happens
Our experienced team means that we can provide a backup sitter in case the assigned sitter is delayed on a prior pet care visit with a sick pet, gets a flat tire, or if they themselves need a day or two off. We coordinate the backup care to ensure your pet gets the care you expect, and if your pet needs to meet new sitters ahead of time, we will arrange for an introduction before a backup is needed.
Experienced managers step in when needed
Kim and Amanda are themselves experienced animal caregivers and will assist sitters in cases of emergencies or unusual situations. Always a text or call away, they can provide advice, meet the sitter on the job if an extra pair of hands or eyes is needed, and ensure that owners are notified of any issues. Our sitters and clients appreciate the extra and knowledgeable layer of support that this team provides.
Proactive attention to details
Our sitters and managers get to know you and your pets’ routine and notice if things are out of the ordinary. Is Fido feeling less energetic than usual? We will let you know. Accident in the house? We clean it up as best as possible. Running low on grain or dog food over an extended vacation? We will pick up more.
As the heart of our business, all members of our pet service team are experienced pet owners and care providers. Our horse caregivers have horse and farm experience, and many are current or former horse owners and riders themselves. Each team member is covered by our bonding and insurance policies and has passed a national criminal background check. It is in our and your pet’s best interest to provide a trustworthy caregiver, so we offer flexible schedules and competitive pay to attract and retain the most qualified, reliable, and stable team of walkers and sitters.
The Loudoun Pet Sitting Co. is licensed in Loudoun County and is insured and bonded by Business Insurers of the Carolinas.
Kim Davis, Owner
With her fur family of six dogs, two house cats, and fish, Kim is a committed and loving pet parent. During that time, they were constantly seeking out dependable and genuinely caring help to take care of their furry clan and provide backup care for the horses while they were working and traveling. After deciding to escape from corporate America, she knew her future laid in caring for pets on a daily basis. Giving busy pet parents peace of mind knowing their furry (and feathered) family members are well taken care of when they cannot be there brings happiness to her. She entered the pet care business 2015 by starting a small dog walking and pet sitting business in the Fairfax area then in September 2020 Kim expanded her services by purchasing The Loudoun Pet Sitting Company (TLPSC). TLPSC was created in 2016 when the purchases of two well established and respected companies (Walking Wetnoses in Leesburg, and Hoofs and Woofs Pet Sitting in Middleburg) were merged. In 2018, Pawsome Palz of Purcellville was merged into The Loudoun Pet Sitting Company.
Abby Rose, Office and Scheduling Manager
Dogs, cats and horses have always been an important part of Sharon’s life. When she left the UK in the early 1990’s for government positions in Canada then the US, her horse followed her. Finding the level care for her horse during that time was challenging, so having decided to remain in the US, Sharon started boarding horses for other people along with running her own small pet-sitting business. She continues to board horses in rural Loudoun where she resides with her husband and their two rescue dogs. Having previously worked for Lysa and Paul, Sharon was excited to join The Loudoun Pet Sitting Co. in early 2017.
As a new client, you will have a meet and greet with Kim Davis, the owner, or Amanda Polvika, Office Manager. They will meet with you and your pets, review their routine, and determine the best match among our sitters for your primary and back up caregivers. Team members are assigned based on their ability to provide the appropriate care to your pets, not because they are available for work. You will be asked to provide us with access to your home in two forms: two keys, a keypad code, or a garage door code. Upon booking a regular midday walk schedule, we can provide a lockbox for use free of charge, or you can purchase one from us for $35.
You will need to complete the Initial New Client Paperwork and once this is returned, we will create your private portal account which allows you to schedule, cancel or request visit changes. The client portal also allows you to communicate directly with your assigned walker, manage your pet’s details and pay your invoices.
Kim and Amanda manage the business daily, working with all the pet sitters to ensure that they have everything they need to do their pet visits: keys, pet care instructions and special notes for the day. Using our scheduling app, all team members can see their schedules for the day complete with addresses, notes, pet information, and emergency contact details. Our sitters use the app to check-in and out of a visit and to add visit notes which include a photo and map reflecting where your pup was walked.
The check-ins and completions are monitored throughout the day so we can ensure everyone is running on time. If sitters need planned time off or run into a last-minute problem (like a flat tire), Kim and Amanda coordinate with other sitters to ensure a backup sitter is scheduled and your pets’ visit is completed. You will also receive an email or text after each visit is completed, adding to your confidence that your pets have been take care of.

OUR TEAM
Our team consists of more than thirty professional pet caregivers in the Leesburg, Purcellville, Marshall and Middleburg areas with horse, dog and/or cat experience, and some bring chicken, ferret, bunny, and bird experience as well!
Before joining our team, new pet sitters go through an interview to ensure that they have the necessary experience not only caring for their pets, but also for others’ pets, and that they have the ancillary skills needed to be a successful pet caregiver: reliability, timeliness, good communication skills, and dependability. Pet sitters and dog walkers who join our team are generally experienced not only in caring for pets but also in using services of a walking/sitting service so understand the expectations our clients have from the perspective of a pet parent and client. Our horse caregivers are experienced horse owners and riders who understand horse care, health and how a barn works. A thorough background check is conducted before they join the company. Feedback from clients is shared with pet sitters as appropriate and is used to continually ensure that our team of sitters is providing the excellent care our clients expect.
